From Vineyard to Table - Spring Mountain Vineyards & Tres Sabores at the Berkeley Wine Festival

The 2013 Berkeley Wine Festival at Meritage – The Clarement Hotel Club & Spa  will continue with the Napa Valley flavors of Spring Mountain Vineyards and Tres Sabores Winery. Join us as these amazing wine makers showcase their unique boutique wines paired with the mouth-watering cuisine of Chef Scott Quinn. 

Spring Mountain Vineyards – May 17
Tony Glorioso hosts a special evening of these spectacular Spring Mountain Wines.  Celebrate 140 years of Cabernet from Spring Mountain Vineyard’s oldest vineyard, La Perla, which is also the first Spring Mountain vineyard to have planted Cabernet Sauvignon.  Some of the wines featured for the evening will be their 2011 Sauvignon Blanc and multiple vintages of the Elivette and Cabernet.

Tres Sabores Winery – May 24
Tres Sabores, or “three flavors” is a small, family-owned ranch located on the Rutherford Benchland of California’s Napa Valley.   The “three flavors” is represented in the three distinct tastes in their wine: the Terroir, or flavor embodied by the location of their ranch; the Vine, which is the individual character of the grape variety; and the Artisan - the wine maker’s personal mark. When carefully balanced, the result is amazing - wines with intense, yet delicate aromas that can be enjoyed in a variety of ways. Chef Quinn of Meritage creates masterful dishes utilizing many of the ingredients from the Tres Sabores property that make this a wine and food pairing event a true “vineyard to table” dining experience.

Elk Cove Vineyards – May 3rd

Family owned and operated, Elk Cove Vineyards has been making wine since 1977 and is heralded as one of Oregon's oldest and most respected wineries. See why Wine Spectator Magazine includes Elk Cove Vineyards in their list of the “20 Oregon Wineries to Know” at the 2013 Berkeley Wine Festival.  Adam Godlee Campbell, winemaker and owner, will lead in celebrating his newest vintages along with a library selection of his pinot triology: noir, gris and blanc.

St. Supéry Vineyards & Winery – May 10th

St. Supéry crafts three distinct tiers of wine to please wine lovers from the novice to the connoisseur and grows all the grapes for their wine portfolio including Napa Valley Estate Wines, Bordeaux Estate Blends and Single Vineyard Estate Wines. Winemaker Michael Scholz will share his diverse wines including Dollarhide Cabernet Sauvignon and their meritage blends Élu and Virtu. An exciting meal by Chef Quinn will accompany these fine wines.

Savor the Flavors of Robert Foley Vineyards & Silver Oak Cellars at the 2013 Berkeley Wine Festival

April looks to be a truly magnificent month for the 2013 Berkeley Wine Festival when we welcome two more outstanding wineries – Robert Foley Vineyards and Silver Oak Cellars for this amazing food and wine pairing event at Meritage, The Claremont Hotel, Club & Spa. 

Robert Foley Vineyards – April 19th
In 1998 Robert Foley Vineyards bottled its very first Claret (a Cabernet Sauvignon/Merlot blend), and has continued to grow in their offerings  to include the reds that they are famous for – Petite Sirah, Merlot, Charbono, the limited-release Howell Mountain Cabernet,  as well as their latest creation, The Griffin (a blend of the best in the red cellar). Not stopping with just reds, Robert Foley has also bottled three favorite whites: Pinot Blanc, Semillon, and Roussanne. Join us April 19th when the much-celebrated winemaker, Robert Foley is on hand to showcase some of his extensive offerings, including his latest, The Griffin. 

Silver Oak Cellars – April 26th
Among the rolling hills of Napa Valley and Alexander Valley is a  sprawling vineyard with a style all its own.  For over 40 years, Silver Oak Cellars has been producing Cabernets that are extensively aged to be drinkable upon release.  Winemaker Daniel Baron continues this commitment to excellence and will feature their Twomey Cellars pinots and merlots as well as their Silver Oak’s Alexander Valley and Napa Valley cabernets.

Hanzel Vineyards – March 22, 2013
Since 1957, Hanzell Vineyards has been bringing their tremendous vision, dedication and knowledge together to produce handcrafted Burgundian style chardonnays and pinot noirs.  Join President Jean Arnold Sessions and Estate Educator Ben Sessions as they discuss their philosophy and approach with a  dynamic fusion of skill, talent and vision for great winemaking in California which is exemplified by their world-class recognition.  Celebrate the flavors of Hanzell Vineyards wines paired with the culinary delights of Chef Quinn. 

Frog’s Leap Winery – March 29, 2013
Frog’s Leap Winery founder John Williams, believes that the greatest wines are those that reflect their soil, climate and terroir and that less involvement in the growing process is better. A favorite of the Berkeley Wine Festival, Frog’s Leap returns to display the full scope of their philosophy and organic approach. The winery’s primary focus is on sustainable farming and in understanding and appreciating the soil, which is apparent in their merlots, sauvignon blancs, cabernet sauvignons and legendary zinfandels.

Benziger Family Winery – April 5, 2013
According to Benziger Family Winery, “Great wine has green values.” and is dedicated to the natural growing of sustainable agriculture, producing organic and biodynamic wines from the Sonoma Mountain for close to 30 years. We welcome Chris Benziger to the Berkeley Wine Festival as he presents his single-vineyard, reserve, and estate wines as well as the signature Tribute blend, throughout the evening’s four-course meal featuring organic ingredients prepared by Chef Quinn.

DeLille Cellars – April 12, 2013
Founded in 1992, DeLille Cellars is a small, independently owned family winery located in Woodinville, WA. Owner Jay Soloff hosts this evening and presents all wines made with the highest handcrafted standards from grapes of the oldest and best vineyards in Washington State, then hand picked and double hand sorted at crush. Savor DeLille Cellars’ Bordeaux style-wines, and indulge in the evening's pairings.
